All Seasons Center
Sioux City, IA

AKA assisted the City of Sioux Center, its school district, and Dordt College in forming a strategic partnership. The AKA team guided the partners through an intensive feasibility study process, which led to a successful fundraising campaign that included local participation, a state grant and a bond referendum. Upon completion of the fundraising, AKA provided comprehensive design and engineering services working with local consultants and contractors to complete the building.

All Seasons Center includes a competition lap pool, indoor and outdoor leisure pools, two water slides, an NHL-size ice sheet with seating for 600 spectators, a senior center, and other community spaces.

A large sunlit lobby provides a community gathering space and social space for adults watching the children play in the aquatics area. The indoor pool space opens to the outdoor aquatics area to the west with extensive southern glazing to warm the pool space. North facing windows in the ice arena provide indirect light without a distracting glare.
