Blaine City Hall and Police Facility
Blaine, MN The
Blaine City Hall and Police Facility provides city offices
and meeting rooms, a police and detention facility, and a
60-car parking garage for city vehicles. The facility is one
element of a larger plan that AKA created through a visioning
process with the City of Blaine staff, city council, and citizen
task force. The process identified a “wish list” for the city
and included elements such as a city hall, police facility,
a town square, community center, retail development and residential
development.
The city
hall includes city offices, council chambers, a large conference
room, enclosed parking and additional meeting rooms. The city
hall’s main atrium provides a public gathering space and organizes
the city offices and service functions in a warm and welcoming
environment.
The police
facility is organized around the patrol functions area. Upon
entering this area, the patrol officer has immediate access
to duty bag storage, evidence processing, and the duty office.
The facility also includes investigator offices, interview
rooms and a fully equipped police lunchroom. The detention
area has a vehicle sally-port entry, a booking area surrounded
by holding cells, and a separate 24-hour public entry for
inmate release.
