Bowling Green National Guard Training and Community Center
Bowling Green, OH
The Bowling Green National Guard Training and Community Center is a collaboration
of the City of Bowling Green, the Ohio Air National Guard,
and Wood County’s Woodlane Mental Retardation and Developmentally
Disabled Agency. This exceptional collaboration leveraged
each agency’s funds to plan and construct a facility that
provides recreational and social programs for the citizens
of Bowling Green, Special Olympics facilities, and provides
a new home for the National Guard.
The
Center is comprised of two gymnasiums, fitness areas, classrooms,
meeting rooms, childcare, locker rooms, a kitchen, and training
facilities for the National Guard. The childcare space, known
as the “Kids Clubhouse,” includes a window-on-wildlife component,
which provides children with environmental education programs.
Future
phases of the Bowling Green Training and Community Center
will include indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities, parks
and recreation department offices, and community rooms.
