Chaska Town Course Clubhouse and Community Park
Chaska, MN The
Town Course Clubhouse, although principally intended to serve
the golf patron, was also designed to provide facilities for
use within the entire recreation area. The clubhouse is arranged
in a linear scheme surrounded by terraces and patios on the
exterior. The commons, the central gathering space and dining
area, contains a fireplace and opens directly to the exterior
terrace that overlooks the golf course eighteenth green and
adjacent Lake Bavaria. An open bar sits adjacent to the commons.
Other amenities include: a commercial kitchen, pro-shop, offices, cart storage, and restrooms.
Beyond
the clubhouse and championship quality golf course, this project
includes a recreation area with tennis courts, outdoor basketball
courts, a children’s tot lot, walking and hiking trails, and
lakeside activities.
Built
on the site of an old farmstead, the building is reminiscent
of rural Minnesota farm buildings with a large roof line and
timber framing. Utilizing natural stone, cedar, and iron, the
building is intended to age naturally, achieving a timeless
quality. Wild flowers, stone retaining walls and native
trees surround the site.
